Nearly 19% of Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district is under the age of 18. The district also includes parts of Pittsburgh Public Schools and major school districts like West Mifflin and Duquesne. That is why Jerry is dedicated to uplifting youth voices and engagement.
As a father to two young daughters, Jerry cares deeply about the issues that affect and matter to youth. That’s why Jerry will create a youth advisory campaign council to help oversee relationships with schools, community organizations, and youth advocacy groups. Jerry will also appoint a Director of Youth Engagement as a part of his leadership team and establish ecosystems for youth engagement including liaisons and neighborhood councils.
If elected, Jerry will work with his colleagues in the House to ensure youth issues are prioritized in Congress, including bold action to address the climate crisis, LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, and more.
