The Pittsburgh region is one of the least livable places for Black women. Women in the region have higher rates of poverty and inequality than women in other regions of the United States. Likewise, the region has greater inequality between white men and white women.
Jerry supports strengthening the Equal Pay Act to provide greater protection against sex-based pay discrimination and provide the same level of remedies available to those subject to discrimination based on race and ethnicity. He is a strong supporter of transparency in pay, including barring employer retaliation against women who voluntarily discuss pay and requiring employees to report pay data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Jerry also supports protecting women’s reproductive rights.
